Internet Veteran needs to learn about marketing, traffic, etc.

I've been "online" from the BBS days, and my smokin' 2400 baud modem, but I don't know that much about effective marketing and traffic generation on the web.

I am a web developer (technical stuff) and a web designer (artistic stuff), and I am starting to realize that all of those skills are becoming more and more automated these days. Anyone can create a website, and copy and paste scripts, so my marketability is declining.

I am looking to update my skillset by adding more knowledge about how to effectively market websites, drive real traffic to sites, and become an "expert" at helping people monetize their content.

I believe that these skills are not automated yet, and most website owners are not doing this well yet.

I hope to learn more from you all in this forum in my never-ending quest for information and knowledge to fill up the empty crevices in my head!
