Okay guys and girls. Let me know what you think are the biggest internet trends right now, and what may be the biggest internet trends in the future!

Right now, social networking is massive. But can anyone really compete with Facebook and MySpace?

There is no competing with Facebook (from where I see it). I am a user of both Myspace & Facebook and have sites that are optimized for social network users, and honestly, Facebook is just right now totally off the charts.
As a Myspace user, seeing how they had things going on with their social network, I could tell they were heading for a downward spiral. But not with Facebook. I just don't see Facebook dying, for a very long time. :)

I think in next few years Wikipedia will overccome these social networking sites and search engines will remain biggest one.

In my opinion, the biggest trend now is Twitter.

Coming up in the near future will be sites like the couple I'm currently working on......
NO JOKE! They will bring 'colour' to the internet.....if you get me...

As far as now, well I'd have to say facebook, twitter, etc.

I think in a couplemore years you'll find people start making more use of sites like google so they can access their bookmarks on any PC in the world, the only trouble with this is there is even less privacy then as everyone will have to sign their privacy rights away... Probably a bad/good thing, depending where you sit on the fence....or at least your understanding of where we're headed as a race....

twitter at present, growth is at 1000% pace
facebook is also growing, but not much, just myspace users are switching over to it.
in the future google wave is the biggest growing thing.

I think twitter is good but really needs to work on spammers and the like. Facebook is the hottest thing right now... Plenty of growth on twitter but people creat accounts and then got back to facebook.

I wish I got Twitter. Just find it irritating - and so far as I can see traffic never converts. Facebook is fun, and great for networking, but I poured a lot of money into their ppc program and found it converted to sales far worse than Adwords. Youtube interests me - I've never tried it - though suspect traffic from there isn't in a buying mode either?
