Anyone here about the grid? 10,000 times faster then the internet? I cant wait for it to take over :).

"The Internet could soon be made obsolete. The scientists who pioneered it have now built a lightning-fast replacement capable of downloading entire feature films within seconds.

At speeds about 10,000 times faster than a typical broadband connection, “the grid” will be able to send the entire Rolling Stones back catalogue from Britain to Japan in less than two seconds.

The latest spin-off from Cern, the particle physics centre that created the web, the grid could also provide the kind of power needed to transmit holographic images; allow instant online gaming with hundreds of thousands of players; and offer high-definition video telephony for the price of a local call."

I qouted the above from some Website

I also, heard this news on the radio.

I heard something about that...unfortunately, by the time this new high speed internet matrix becomes available to the average joe around the world at a reasonable price, a lot of us will probably be dead and gone.

This is the first I have heard of it, but it does sound like they're onto something. I think it could be seen as the Internet V2. Hopefully they'll find someway to limit the number of sites so "The Grid" is just a pure quality network.

Sounds like a cool concept. If it does work it will revolutionize everything.
