My step dad is thinking of doing a project, and we were wondering is there copyright laws for internet radios? ?He wants to play raw uncensored music (where I live everything is really censored...) and he's trying to figure out the copyright laws on it, does he have to contact them and pay a fee or something? Or can he just play the music off his computer? He wants to make money off the site (but NOT by selling the music) and won't allow any music to be downloaded, so can he do this?
Well, I have the same question. A friend of mine has his own internet radio and didn't pay any license... but he lives in Venezuela, and there's a huge difference in copyright laws between Utah and Venezuela. P.S.Your question doesn't belong to the "copywriting" section.
Omg I'm sorry! I was thinking it was...copyrights or something...gaahh I'm an idiot sometimes, I just kinda hastily posted it. Thanks! Where can I post this or can an admin get it moved or something? @__@; Sorry.

Well, wrong forum or not, I do have experience on the subject, and what your step dad needs are broadcasting licenses, in order to broadcast a radio stream legally. For more info on the subject check out http://www.loc.gov/crb/ It should provide you with all information you require.
