Internet Marketing is the latest trend of the universe.By building a site or starting an online business never bring u money.But the real core of every online activities is Marketing Let me introduce some of the internet marketing techniques so far I am using.I don't no whether all are effective in every business.Finding new path in marketing make my way more clear ! 1) Chain Mailing Whenever I start a new site or else I used to create a best content/article about it which is very useful for other, and send them to all my friends list.And this mail is forwarded to their friends and go on like a chain 2) Orkut/Yahoo Groups I used to publish my site details in yahoo groups and orkut.Some of them see this as spamming.Anyway this can also bring me traffic. 3) Blogging/Forum Signatures I used to share my site details in blogs and forums and kept them as my signature. 4) Link Exchange LE can also bring a huge traffic 5) Social Bookmarking All this are my internet techniques but is it full ? or I have made some mistakes and more ? 1) Chain Mailing Doesn't really work with advertisements.. mainly silly things like horoscopes and quizzes (from my experience) 3) Excellent, it works great for your PR too 4) If done with relevant sites 5) Great great way, everyone should do this if possible.
But is the internet marketing field ends with this five ? I think NO ! If somebody knows anymore please do share !

First off none of what you said had anything to do with marketing. Those are "advertising" venues. I personally do not consider my myself an internet marketer, If anything I would consider my self an internet advertiser. It would astound you how many "internet marketers" actually lack a degree in marketing.
I think web 2.0 is quite a general answer. There seems to be trouble even giving web 2.0 a simple yet precise definition. but to add to the list 11)Press releases 12) digg

I use article marketing primarily. As for Web 2.0, I've started to use Squidoo with promising results. And my form of viral marketing is by giving away free books branded with my affiliate links.
I agre directory submission is a great place to get a good pr and backlinks, it is also cheap or free if you want to do it yourself.
