I would like to expand my business from online to an offline service to local business in Bangkok, Thailand. I will offer consultation on how to promote a website, create a website, maximizing SEO, and more in dept walk through with traffic related. I know that the biggest difference between the online and offline worlds is the size of the market. Does anyone in here have some good experience or some tips to share? Here are some of my ideas so far 1. Meet and network with businesses local area 2. Advertise in free local magazine and ads 3. Create an awesome business card 4. Participate in local activities and group websites 5. Work with local charity in the area 6. Do online contest Your suggestion and opinion will be greatly appreciated
i do not know why would you want to do it. Offline is more expensive and limited geographically, not to mention that internet marketing is all about online. You will probably have to walk (or hire somebody to walk) businesses door to door handing out your business card or flyer, which is not fun... However I suppose the offline is less competitive as there might be bunch of business that never though about marketing online, so you may be the first with your offer. This is probably the only benefit.
It is actually are very interesting idea, one with great risk. The offline market these does are probably less flooded with competition as the online worlds is. Networking is a great start, people are still looking for the same things in a business online as they are offline i.e. Trust, Rapport, Open Communication,... Since it is much more expensive, start with advertising locally so you do not burn a whole in your pocket before turning over a profit. I think door to door does not work now-a-days, as the world is a much different place than what it used to be. Hope t his helps : ) Best of Luck.
try and organize a flash mob to try and get all your online friends/contact/followers for one large off line event in your local area as this will get people interested in what you have to offer in your online sites it is cost affective and joins online and offline activity together definition of a flash mob from Wikipedia "is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and pointless act for a brief time, then disperse. The term flash mob is generally applied only to gatherings organized via telecommunications, social media, or viral emails. The term is generally not applied to events organized by public relations firms, protests, and publicity stunts."
Hi Justin, I think I do similar to what you are suggesting. I offer online marketing services to offline businesses. Making contacts and networking with business people has been the most effective way of getting my company business. I wish you all the best with it.
Promoting With Friends Promoting With Articles Promoting With Classifieds Promoting With Online Groups Bussiness Cards Rubber stamps Magnets Post Cards Windows Decals Lawn Signs pens
I believe it should be the other way round. every1 is trying to take their biz from the limitations of offline to online advantages...
Flash Mob is a great way to maximize my business. Magnets, post cards and window decals are really good marketing ideas. I don't think door-to-door is a good way to approach b2b... maybe I will send an email first and see if they would want to meet and discuss in any further detail.. I'm going to start making contacts and networking with business people has been the most effective way of getting my company business. Thanks guys!
One the things we used to do is find out where exhibitions were taking place, we then used to hand out business cards and flyer to people that were attending them (as well as the exhibitors). I wouldn't recommend door-to-door as you mentioned above. Sometimes the responses you receive can be very negative. Also being an exhibitor yourself can help too. It gives you more face to face time with potential customers. Jenny
I think attending those exhibitions and shows are a super idea. How long have you been doing business offline Jenny? Thanks again for your reply.
