I was first introduced to IM by a scrawny guy in my field, personal training, at one of his bootcamps - That Day I Learned Two Things: 1. You can make a lot of money in Internet (Information) Marketing 2. You don't have to have any idea what you're talking about to do it But this guys struck me as a complete sleeze ball, and I felt like a sheep. He's still very successful, running his bootcamps, launching different internet projects, and most likely making money. Meenwhile, a year and half later, I'm just starting to get off the ground with my first Product and my first Internet Venture. Am I a Hater? Or is that just integrity? I give DP'ers a lot of credit - this forum has among the highest integrity and hardest working people that I've come across on the web. For that reason, I feel that many of you can see my point - What I'm saying is that the Internet can be used as a tremendous vehicle, probably the best ever, to share your talents, interests, and pursuits with the world, and monetize the process for yourself while adding great value to your end user. The tool itself can be exploited however, just like any market system can. At that point however, it just becomes a hustle: you're trying to stay one step ahead of the system and your customers, you have no real talent to market, and although you're making money, at the end of the day you didn't really contribute any value for the money you earned. My Point: Develop yourself and use the internet to bring that to others, or develop your marketing skills and help others share their gifts, but don't just spam the planet and hold out a bucket to catch whatever falls of the table. Thank you.
Well, definitely, Internet is just a tool. To have a successful venture, your skills need to be versatile - marketing (not only Internet), budgeting, management etc. etc.
very good post, internet marketing is a very lucrative feild, if you hit it the right way- you could become very rich
Marketing should be just a tool for bringing people to services, info etc. It should improve people lives not sell them shi* and things that they don't need. Nice post.
