Internet Explorer XP SP2 popup blocker "information bar" problems

    Hello,

I have a website that offers a automatic software download prompt. The user clicks "download now" on a separate page, then they are taken to a page that automatically generates the download prompt and offers download and installation instructions, and also states "if the download does not start automatically, click here". You've seen similar pages on software download sites.

However, users that have XP SP2 and are using Internet Explorer cannot use this page. This is because the 'information bar' treats the automatic download prompt as a popup... Keep in mind, the user wants to download the software, and has already clicked a button on a separate page to do so. The value of this page is that it contains instructions for downloading and installing the software.

Is there a way that I can workaround this IE popup blocker? If not, can you suggest what I should do instead?

    Thanks!
