    Hey all,

trying to find out what percentage of users these days are using IE.. well not the latest versions of IE.. would love to hear from webmasters / site owners.. im sure the IE user percentage is dropping these days but but am worried about potential losing customers if i don't cater for ie users.

I am interested in general numbers but have also asked in the adwords section as i intend on using it to promote my products in a few weeks.

Ive recently sold off most of my portfolio so i don't have the data i need.. well not from sites with decent traffic numbers.

    Thanks

it's dropping day by day against FIREFOX - Chrome - Opera
firefox updating occasionally and chrome made a very wide marketing
and people got bored for using IE

Thanks for your reply.. that's what i thought but still am wondering if it's worth spending a lot of extra time making not only my website but also products IE friendly.. I am a forum skin designer and will obviously need to ensure my products are ie friendly.. mainly interested in wondering if i should worry about my main site / product base..

    Cheers

IE usage is definitely dropping. Recent stats released by both w3schools and StatCounter back this up; however, the statistics provided by the two vary. w3schools shows a much smaller percentage of IE users (21%) compared to StatCounter - but that might be because it only keeps track of tech-savvy users, who're bound to use Firefox, Chrome or Safari. Most users still use the default IE coming with their operating system.

Check out this interesting article for more info
