Since Europe is now offered a choice of browser in Windows in Europe, as of March 1, IE has lost up to 2.5 percent market share in Europe. IE typically has lost that much every 6 months or so for the last 5 years but that should now accelerate its demise as time goes on and we can get rid of the worst browser on the planet.

It should be right it. Internet Explorer is only good for some website which preferred only IE such as internet banking. The biggest threat for IE is their own IE6. Internet Explorer 6 was launched as a "so-so" product, free included in Windows of course. IE6 is the most weird in render web page. If you test you would see that recently sites made to competible with IE7+ and Firefox always has a problem when use IE6 to open it. IE6 also has a big security hole via their Active X. If IE has to keep IE6 core just for compatibility then IE would never been better than Firefox or Opera.

Good news for firefox hey...bad news for ie and ms right! How does the offered a choice thing work in Europe? Does windows come with them all, or you are prompted to install or download one of your choice somehow or other? I haven't been a fan of ie for years now. I only use sometimes to test sites to make sure they look good for the ie users too.

There's an article detailing how it works here : http://microsoftontheissues.com/cs/...1/windows-7-and-browser-choice-in-europe.aspx

Basically, if IE is set as the default browser on new launch (or on first post March Windows software update?) AND OS is in Europe, they get presented with a screen and need to choose a default browser from a pre-defined selection, presented in a random order.
