Microsoft released the forth preview edition of Internet Explorer 9, and the IE 9 beta edition will release on September 1st.
IE9 will be able to use XHTML. Of course, all other browsers were able to do that 12 years ago. They claim it can handle SVG, too, but it hasn't been able to do so on my sites that use it. Obviously the people at Microsoft have finally learned a few things about how to make a browser from the other vendors. It may be too late to save them though since it won't be out till next year at the earliest. Even then, it appears it will still be behind all the others in modern standards and practices but we'll have to see.
I think I will wait until like internet explorer 15 or something. Seriously though I will check it out, but I'm not really counting on any major improvements with it's track record. You never know I guess.
IE9 will have complete or nearly complete support for all CSS 3 selectors, border-radius CSS 3 property, faster JavaScript, and embedded ICC v2 or v4 color profiles support via Windows Color System. IE9 will feature hardware-accelerated graphics rendering using Direct2D, hardware accelerated text rendering using DirectWrite, hardware accelerated video rendering using Media Foundation, imaging support provided by Windows Imaging Component, and high fidelity printing powered by the XPS print pipeline
Honestly, fuck Internet Explorer (Excuse my language). All it is, is a major pain in my ass. All pages will work great with Firefox, Chrome, and Opera, but Internet Explorer always has to make things difficult. I wish Internet Explorer would just die, it would make it a lot easier on us developers.
Just like Microsoft....are you Microsoft? Your post does what Microsoft does, ignores what it will NOT support.
Not verified but good source told me IE9 might launch without CSS3 transitions which will make it the only browser not to support it. Another Microsoft created setback for the web and reason number 3978 no one should use IE.
IE9 is the newest browser from Microsoft. Many people running a windows operating system have this browser on their system by default.
"many people have IE9 by defalut", are you shure about that? because i don't think so. Anywhay back on topic, yeah i have tested it and it looks good, at last IE 9 will use XHTML and CSS3 Standarts. And in term of speed IE9 is already faster than Opera 10.0 (not the new 10.5 or 10.6 version).
i haven't tried IE9 since i am using fire fox and chrome.. though I've tried their older version and you guys were right, it gave a lot of waiting time for it to load..
