5 years ago, when IE had 95% market share and I first got into web development, I posted on a forum that it seemed to me IE was not a very good browser, technically. I was ridiculed because "IE6 was the best!" they said. "But this new Firefox seems to reproduce my markup faithfully while IE doesn't." "You fool!", they said.

Then I made the prediction that in 3 to 5 years, IE would lose half its market share to other browsers, specifically Firefox. As of today, stat companies report IE market share anywhere from 52% to 62%. In Europe, some countries show IE has less than 50% usage. Last week, Reuters reported IE lost up to 5% market share this month in Europe.

And people still scoff at me when I say IE is the worst on the planet despite all the evidence starting with those in my sig.

Microsoft is failing because it's core intention was to dominate their markets worldwide, instead of focusing from their customers perspective.

Look at google, they're not trying to prove they're the best.. just do what they're good at and continue doing it.

Look at apple, they realize fighting for marketshare from microsoft was a bad mistake, now it expanse to other territory where they're actually better at like iphone.. itouch. To be honest, apple made waay more money from their itunes, phones, mp3 player than their macs & operating system.

Microsoft needs to focus on their customer needs and request and do copy from the best player like firefox.. only then maybe they'll get to have a good piece of the pie.

Time to chill out with all that monopoly thing.
