    Can anyone help me figure out why my website (www.archeopixel.com) display fine on Mozilla, safari, chrome and internet explorer 8. but on internet explorer 7 it should display pictures like this:
    <img src="http://a.imageshack.us/img820/4436/12082010150931.png" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/>

    <img src="http://a.imageshack.us/img25/8539/12082010150915.png" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/>

    But instead. In internet explorer 7 its this:

    <img src="http://a.imageshack.us/img705/9046/12082010150800.png" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/>

    <img src="http://a.imageshack.us/img705/9046/12082010150800.png" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/>

    It is really buggin me! The div for the home page that is affected is position:absolute as it is a slideshow run by javascript (jquery).

    Would really appreciate any help!

    All version of IE are the worst browsers on the planet. IE8 does not work like IE7 which doesn't work like IE6 and none of them work like any of the other far more modern browsers.

    Hm if it just shows other pictures it is not a CSS problem ;)

    But again a dreamweaver crap code with onmouseover/onmouseout ... why not doing this simple stuff in CSS instead of JS commands?

    I can not see any imgageshack slider script.

    LOL

    You say on your site:

    ArcheoPIXEL.com - Professional Graphic/Web Design at a Low Cost

    Can you please tell me why the hell you are loading jQuery 1.3.2 and 1.4.2?

    <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Contact-Pop/js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js">
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Contact-Pop/js/contact-pop.js"></script>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../Contact-Pop/css/contact-pop.css" />
    <link rel="Shortcut Icon" href="favicon.ico">
    <link href="archeopixel.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script>

    Code (markup):
    If you were into webdesign... you should know :D

    W3C Validator tells me: 45 Errors, 22 warning(s)

    Dear "webdesigner",

    do not use Dreamweaver javascript functions. Do not use
    Dreamweaver at all if I you want me take you a serious company.

    Thank you.

    FYI: If your code is XHTML valid, no bot will have problems to crawl your site until the end.

    Think about SEO, too ;)

    Ow i forgot to mention that your rotateImages function does not work properly !

    EDITED: The design is nice, I like it :)

    I changed your function a little bit ;)

            $(function() {
                setInterval("rotateImages()", 4000);
            });

            function rotateImages() {
                var CurPhoto = $('#imagerotate div.current');
                var NxtPhoto = CurPhoto.next();
                if (NxtPhoto.length == 0)
                    NxtPhoto = $('#imagerotate div:first');

                //
                CurPhoto.animate({ opacity: 0.0 }, 500);
    			CurPhoto.removeClass('current').addClass('previous');
    			NxtPhoto.animate({ opacity: 1.0 }, 500);
    			NxtPhoto.removeClass('previous').addClass('current');
            }

    Code (markup):
    Have fun, tested and worked for me in FF 3.6.8

    Please don't be angry about my posts. I only say what I see and what I think.

    By the way: you use a 164KB contentbg.jpg file for your background.
    After compressing (80% quality) it has only 95KB. You should compress images/css/js files.
    Speeds up loading.

    Hi CSM, sorry about all the crazy "Novice" dreamweaver stuff. but I am a student learning graphic/web design so still pretty new at this. I'm glad your ohnest with this sort of stuff, and thanks for altering the code! I am going to look at all the changes you suggested and let you know! I am guessing dreamweaver javascript stuff is a no no, and now that you mention it, I dont know why i didnt use CSS instead of onMouseover! as of the 2 jquery libraries I will sort that out to! Was also wondering what you use instead of Dreamweaver.

    Thanks Again Scott

    Don't worry mate.

    You will soon find out that you do not need DW or any similar WYSIWYG editors.

    I use Notepad++ and that's all. Ok the autocomplete functions are nice to have but I never used them when I tried any WYSIWYG editors.

    2003 I used Frontpage and 2005 I began using simple texteditors to do the CSS/HTML.
    I was never coding any JS stuff since last year jQuery 1.4 was born :) Before that I was using MooTools a lot.

    I began to look at the jQuery plugins code and I found out how god damn easy jQuery 1.4 was :D

    Best advice I could give you is scrap the idea of IE7. Barely, and I mean barely, anyone uses IE7 anymore. Most have upgrade to 8 and therefore 7 is obsolete and will be a waste of your time to even try getting your site to display properly or images in IE7.
