Microsoft has launched the latest beta of their Internet Explorer 7 application. The beta 3 comes after the company released the latest preview edition of their upcoming Windows Vista operating system. IE 7 Beta 3 is available for download for Windows XP Service Pack (SP) 2, XP Professional x64, Windows Server 2003 SP 1, Windows Server 2003 x64 and Windows Server 2003 ia64 systems. Microsoft said that they have updated this version to include the recommendations of the beta testers of previous releases. The latest version enables the users to add an e-mail button, re-order the tabs by dragging them and the ability to scroll horizontally while zooming. It also now allows the users to automatically update all the RSS feeds. The final version of Internet Explorer 7 is due to be out before the end of the year just around the time Windows Vista ships in the market. It would take on the latest offerings from the alternate browser companies including Mozilla Firefox and Opera Browser. Download: Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3
Been using the beta version since day one. He was one of the first testers (he loves testing stuff for microsoft so they have him as a beta tester). He loves it, wants me to get it now. But will wait until final version comes out.
What i want to know is why they stopped updating the IE for Mac users! Are we not worthy or are they not being able to compete? .
I wish that they would make it so that I could install the new beta and still access IE6. That's preventing me from trying it out because I must have IE6 on my windows machine.
I just downloaded it. I like the tabs things. I dont like where the favorites are though. I'll have to see how to move that.
I was playing with the new IE today. Here are some cool things I like: -Each tab can have its own homepage by default. I guess it opens them all up whenever you load IE? Who knows. -Tabs are awesome -Text looks a little more readable. Bold is bolder, text is a little bigger too. -Secondary tabs show the status of the page (loading, etc) Things I don't like: -Favorites are in a sucky location -Google toolbar blocks new windows (even when you right click open in new window) - prolly need to download an update -New windows should open up in new tabs instead (make it an option at least) -scrolling through dropdown boxes no longer works. THIS SUCKS! My online orderprocessing program uses a dropdown to let me select things. Now my wheely on my mouse wont do it for me
Im not sure but I think I downloaded IE 7 beta 2.. and I really hate the font. It is set to verdana and the same font size for every single page. I hope Beta 3 is different.. But I have no idea now how to switch back to IE 6
I think that can be done from control panel. Plus the new installation of IE must have created a folder in your "program files" > "Internet explorer". There should be a support text file which has specific instructions on reverting back to previous version.
Internet Explorer 7 beta 3 has broken my main site. Pages overflow the right edge of the page but they display correctly in IE6 and Firefox. I really hope they fix this. Demonstration at http://www.marine-life.info
IE7 broke my computer (it stopped me being able to print emails from Microsoft Outlook) so I uninstalled it.
this is gay. the wheel button on my mouse makes things open in a new tab. I usually use it to scroll up and down on the page and usually click it too hard when i dont mean too. Now it opens up everything. I keep clicking banner and google ads now. I hate learning (not to do) things over again Too bad the wheel doesnt let me scroll thru dropdowns, like it really should though
I used Beta 2 for a while but it was too buggy. Uninstalling it automatically reverted me to IE6. Beta 3 should do the same, I guess.
