    Hey,

So I have a VPS that I access using Windows RDP and I use Linuxmint as my OS. The problem is that it connects too slow and stops/hangs during running. It also takes some time to show me the screen if I make some change. Whats the minimum internet speed requirement for using a VPS easily ?

    Thanks

    a 512kbps or 1mbps should be enough
lower the desktop resolution and colors to make it lighter

I have a 1Mbps connection but its slow. The resolution and colors are low as well. Do the specs of my VPS matter ?

Thanks a lot monitorscout but my bad luck that I'm using Linux and a third party RDP program. But I'll try to take a look at the settings :)

It may be the VPS, but it's probably your internet. Try lowering any and all graphics settings.

if you have bandwidth problems try:
    1) reduce color depth to 8bit (default is 32) on the remote machine
    2) reduce desktop resolution on the remote machine (1024x768 should be enough for most jobs)
    3) avoid running graphics-intensive ups remotely (such as playing video for example)
