i have no clue what is going wrong.. i have wireless hooked up and all to my laptop... but what is this error...

when i use mozzilla, i go to either facebook or myspace and it says this:

myspace AND facebook loads... but when i click log in it says:

(PS: paypal.com also gives me this message below....

    Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at my.screenname.aol.com.

    * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.

    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.

    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

ALSO.... WHEN I GO TO SQUIRREL MAIL OR CPANEL, IT DOES NOT HAVE THE POP UP LOG IN... IT USE TO... NOW IT JUST KEEPS THE LOADING THING.. YOU CLICK ONE IF YOUR BEHIND FIREWALL AND THE OTHER OPTION IF YOUR NOT..

    internet explorer works fine...

any help with this is gladly appreciated!!!

    1. in your firewall setting, except firefox from the list of blocked apps.

    2. Turn the firewall off for a sec and try firefox again.

    3. report back here

Scan your computer for a virus.

than clean up your machine since this sounds like a application problem.

You you have an anti-virus/-spyware-firewall program(firewall besides windows')?

It's not a signal issue if you say that it doesn't work wired either and I'm assuming that you allow everything through your firewall, the router doesn't seem to block anything so it was to be something down to the apps.

Do a clean wipeout and reinstall of those programs that don't work and check your pc for spyware and viruses

    Try using OpenDNS

    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220

Put this in Prefferred and Alternate DNS.

    This might help you guys

    Thanks

Yeah, reading through this thread, the only thing I can think of that could be an issue would be an app like NoScript that is blocking scripts from running.

I have many many many times gotten frustrated over why a site wouldn't load, only to notice the red circle with a line through it on the bottom right of my screen.

    Reinstall browser/Attempt with different Browser.
