    Hello,

I've been working on a web site for ohhh...4 months or so now, and I predict it will be done in early May, though I'm waiting on a letter to complete it. I plan on showing you the web site once it is completed, but I thought I'd show you all the Forums that will accompany it, as well as a preview of the Home page. I also have a flash intro, and if you want to see that, just email me at

The site will be called QuickUN and basically it's an international site that offers the opportunity to recieve up to date world news, donate to charities, talk with people from around the world, and finally the main idea behind it: learn the basics about the United Nations. The Forums mostly fulfill the talking to people from around the world, but also act as a place to discuss world events, as well as give your ideas about the United Nations. So far the site has backing from a couple organizations, such as ACUNS (acuns.net) for example. My hope is to help give people the right idea about the United Nations and the world around them as opposed to what they hear from the media which probably could do a better job getting both sides of the story to the people of the world. Below is a link to the Forums and a preview of the home page (though I could only get so much in one screenshot, so the bottom quarter or so is not visible). I will post link to the site once it is completed. I hope to at least get some comments on the Forums, and the preview, or heck, you could even join the Forums haha.

    Forums: s15.invisionfree.com/UnitedNations_Forums

In regards to the preview, that top black thing is a Flash, the bottom left is a scrolling rss news feed, and yes, the navigation is rollover

    Thanks for your time!

The header doesn't appear to line up with the rest of the site in FF. Also, I'm on cable and this took its sweet time to load up (I believe just because of that header?). You might want to look at doing something to shrink the size of that image file.
Just on a personal preference note, I sincely dislike both marquee's and forums where you cannot see the forum before the page fold (because of ad's, news, huge logo's, etc.). This forum fits into that.

The screen shot of the main page looks much more promising to me. You should model the forums further after that. The two of them in my mind just don't seem to fit well together (the two designs, that is).

Too much scrolling. I can't say I am diggin the layout on the forums either. The site layout seems better though.

In Opera the forums is displaying incorrectly as well. The header is not aligned with the rest of the site.

    some suugestions -
as said by ibold and labrocca, the header image is not aligned with the rest of the body and there is too much scrolling. reduce the height of header image. put the vertical marquee in parallel with newsfeed i.e. keep them at same level.

keep the font size small for text below feed to reduce space. and why the login screen is at bottom ?

Thanks for your comments guys, I appreciate it. I'll see what I can do with the header; I was going to replace it soon anyways. The Forums aren't going to be a main focal point, I just tried to keep the same color scheme and make them as handy as possible. I plan to put those Language specific forums you only see after you register into sub-forums, and I'll try to continue to condense it.

If you are wondering, on the actual site, the bottom 4th or what-not that is not seen is simply an advertisement for a charity, a quote of the month (or week, haven't decided what to make it yet haha), and a poll, that's about it.
