So I wanted to move my blog to a new server. Here are the steps I took:

I have webhosting with Host Gator

    1. Went to "Fantastico Deluxe" to remove wordpress, but for some reason my blog wasn't there.
    2. So I went to "MySQL Databases" and removed the database for my site and the user profile respectively.
    3. Went to "Addon Domains" and removed my domain.
    4. Went to "File Manager" and deleted the directory.

    New Server:
    1. Changed my nameservers in GoDaddy
    2. AddOn my domain in my new server (AddOn Domains)
    3. Went to Fantastico Deluxe and installed wordpress

However, when I enter my domain name I get this error:

Does anyone know what's going on? I keep reading other threads about .htacess files, but I'm so confused on what people are saying.

Try clearing all the wordpress content from .htacess file and reload again.

Alright I did that, and now when I type in my domain it gives me a 404.
It's weird, I have the DNS switched to my new server, however when I log into cpanel it still goes to the old server's cpanel area.

Don't remove the contents from the .htaccess, this is where the redirection is set else you will receive a Not Found message. Do you have root access to your new server? if yes, check the Apache logs while accessing the website

This should give you a clue where the problem is. You can paste the logs here so people can help you in the right direction.

How long ago did you change the DNS settings? It can take a few hours to propagate throughout the internet, and it sounds like you are still being directed to your old hosting account.

Issue is resolved. I don't know what happened but when I woke up today everything was working fine. I replaced my old .htaccess file back to my old server, and everything is working on there and the new server. I'm guessing it was due to the DNS's not changed (took way longer than usual). But thanks for all the help guys :)
