Internal pages ranking but home page is not, Why?

    My website is visible now in google ranking after a long time. Few of the internal pages have good ranking but home page is not visible in thousands. What may be exact reason. If you have any idea please discuss with me.

    your internal pages can get ranked high for certain keywords that are less competitive than keywords on your main page
