Hi guys, I'm thinking of trying to rank some inner pages of a site for some keywords instead of the homepage. Would you recommend deeplinking into those pages with a relevant anchor text to help this?
Yes you will want links pointing directly to those internal pages. Those links should have relevant anchor text too. You should also have good keywords in your internal linking too.
Absolutely! In fact, I know many guys that treat every page as if it were a homepage. I have done it myself with great success. You'll be surprised what longtail keyword phrases will rank. Bompa
Try deeplinking your inner pages and submit them to web directories, it will help. I've done it myself Zac
You can do this by posting comments on dofollow blogs . Like if you have good list og blog templates than go and post comments on blog template related blog post and in last paste your keyword with link . Like I have also good collection of Free blog templates .
Some methods I use for inner page link building are blogging, forums posting and social bookmarking which all working pretty good.
Thanks for the advice. I know it all souds good in theory, I was just wondering if it would be better to try to rank the homepage because obviously this is the page with the highest PR "power" on the site.
