Hi, Sorry if this is a repost - but hey - there are no new questions. SEO Metrics Apart from getting to No1 in Google, MSN, Yahoo! and Ask.co with your selected keyphrases, what would you consider are the measurables for the SEO of a firm? Related Questions: How do you rate the usefulness of links to the homepage at the bottom of your own pages. I think we have one on every page, but I have been told that we ought to have a few more on every page. My first thought is link spam. At what rate should I be arranging/allowing new content to be posted to the site? This is a funny issue, as I think that I have seen articles and/or posted comments about sites gaining too many pages too fast. I said a conservative estimate of 12 new pages with highly specialised topics and 2 or two news articles with the required index.html updates per week. The high estimate came in at 100 pages + news. First I think #1 is really not the best sign of a good SEO. I think an increase in rankings, as well as number of pages indexed is a good measure. But there is more to it and taking rankings as the only factor really is not good. Personaly linking to your home page on every interior page is good. The other thing you want to do is is interlink between other pages on your site. Link to like 3 or 4 other pages. This gives links to your other pages and makes it so the SE's can find the pages. Think of it from a usability standpoint. WOuld it make it easier for a user to navigate your site? Fresh content is very important. I think that getting up as much fresh content as possible is important. 2 a week is good but you can do more. In my blogs I try to post 3 or 4 times a week at the least. Some day i get 2 or 3 post in. I think the most I have ever done on one blog is like 12 or 15 post in a week. I would not be afraid of it. Just do it naturaly and the rest will come.
