Hi guys, do you think it helps in search engine rankings to have links from internal pages with the anchor text of the main search term for the home page ie if my home page is optimised for the phrase "Central Heating for Igloos" will it help if links from my other pages have the anchor text "Central Heating for Igloos" rather than the usual "Home". All my old pages have "home" links but I am using my main keyword phrase on new pages, do you think it would help if I change all the old pages or are internal links not worth that much in terms of search engine ranking? Maybe I would just jump up a couple of places. Needahand
I dont think that will help you much. It will be better to have some incoming links from other sites (different IPs) with the anchor text "Central Heating for Igloos".
I think internal links are very important for seo. If you do change the old ones mix up the anchor text a bit to get some variety of keywords. Andrew
Its not something you really want to spend much time on, but it will most certainly help and give you "points".
Thanks guys, do you think it helps to have a variety of different phrases on incoming links as well - should they all contain my keywords?
