Hi all, Using LinkDiagnosis today, I see some of my competition creating links from their index page TO their index page (not counting the banner), using different anchor text. LinkDiagnosis (which is a website I like a lot) gives some of these links a significant "strength" value. Question is: are these links pretty much ignored by search engines? I'm thinking LD's algorithm isn't taking into account the fact that the links are coming from the same page they're going to. I know internal links can be used successfully, but most of the time I see bloggers doing it. My site's non-blog. What do you think?
I use it to a small extent, I typically use it for a single site-wide keyword that I display on the bottom of my site.
I usually don't link to the home page from the home page, but for sure use different anchor text going back to the home page from other internal pages.
Same as here! If im an ordinary user, it will make me irritate if i click on a link then i will land on the same page. I link from homepage to other internal pages.
