Internal linking query

I have a celeb site and have a question.

I want to put a link to every celebrity on the main page, for 2 reasons

1 - It would be good for my visitors to be able to see the celebrity and get every page related to the celebrity on that link that I have on the site.

2 - Good for the bots as they will easily find my pages as every page will be linked from a page linked from the main page. (In terms of how it will look it will look good and not spammy or anything)

My concern is though I have 300 celebrities, and I know google webmasters guidelines to say to keep it to 100 links but that's just a guide, considering the two points I made that it will be good for my visitors and be a good internal linking structure, should I still do it? Or will having all those links be negative seo wise for me for my main page having all those links on it?

I don't participate in link exchanges so there are only a few external links to sites I think my visitors will like, apart from that its pretty much all internal links

    Thanks

You can break them into seperate categories. I'm sure you can divide them up into a few different web pages. Actors, Singers, Etc. This way, not only do you add more relevancy to the specifc celeberity you keep your link numbers down :)
