Hello you all, I am presently contructing a web page which will have some image galleries. Each gallery page has texts (about 250 words) & about 6 images (thumbnail). When you click on an image, it will show it in large at the right side of the thumbnails. When you click on another image, then the new image you click will be shown in the right in large. The way my programmer is programming it is 6 different pages, each one consisting on the original page + the large image selected on the right. This layour for me is very appropiate for SEO purposes. In my case, each image relates to a different keyword so the proposed way to follow is very appropiate since I can optimise each one of these pages for one or two keywords & have internal links based on each page. My only concern is that all these 6 pages are basically the same. Same texts, same pictures, except for the name of one picture which changes (and maybe also the page title). For your info, the 250 word text relates to all the pictures. Considering that these pages are in the same website, would this be considered dup content? What will happen? Thanks for input,
only one of these pages will rank for the keywords and the rest will probably be supplemental results....your site wil not recieve a penalty...dup content is a filter to make sure that the same text will not rank high... I know its probably going to be hard but can you write separate descriptions for each image?
Seo Ranter, Thanks for input. Actually let's say my site is about sport cars. The texts is about sports cars in general and mentions the different types of sport cars. the six pictures are a Porsche, a Ferrari, a Lamborghini and so on. My objective is to rank well for the different brands which appear on the pictures. My question is. If somebody writes in the Google: Porsche + some keywords (which appear on my page) and my page is well ranked, would it appear OK... I really would not care if any of the other pages (which have the picture of the Lamborghini and so on do not appear ranked as long as the Porsche page does). Internally, I would have a different link for each one of these, calling them Sport cars - Porsche; Sport cars - Ferrari and so on. I know that ideally, I should write in each one of the pages texts related to the specific car, but this would be a very time consuming thing for all the categories I will have. Thanks,
Hi Midi... as long as you don't dup your contents and do link buildings to your subpages, it can rank well.. it is time consuming,,, but thats the way it is,, if you really want good rankings... regards!
toinkzzz, That's the whole issue. I will have dupe content within my own page. All siz pages on the gallery will have exactly the same text, except for the large picture which will differ.
