first let me say that i am an SEOrookie. I have been able to understand and follow most of the stuff like backlinks, keywords, <h2>, and other offpage stuff.
BUT one thing that i am confused about is internal linking. my site is a joomla template site so basically the menus are there on everypage. should i add links in article text to other related pages inside my site? should i just put text links on the bottom of the page? i looked around DP and found 100's of references to the importance of internal links but really could not find an outline or stragety of how to apply it to my site.

    thanks

I find that a good tree structure of pages with navigation that shows all top level pages all the time, then other pages at the same level as the current page, works fine. Of couse if you have a few "money pages" which you wish to drive traffic and/or spiders to then extra links to them are ijmportant.

Another way to think of it is "how many clicks from my home page is any one other page", and "how many different click paths are there through my site to any particular page". The first needs to be kept small, while the second should be plenty.
