How does Google value internal links w.r.t link building development? When I link:www.competitorsite.com, half of the links are their internal pages. Do they count towards your PR or actual link 'votes'?
Compare with internal link, the external link take a much more important place for the PR. But it is strange that, now, google is strict with the links quality, so both of them is not easy to get as before.
yes, internal links are counted. but you can't depend on them only, you will have to combine with getting links from other sites. You competitor did that, afterall. "half of the links are their internal pages"
There are sites out there that have a lot of internal links (google "silo seo") and just a few backlinks. These sites are better off - G loves internal links...look at Wikipedia.
Rightly put. Most Imers focus on getting links on the homepage. Where as internal links play a major part in SERP ranking.
