    Hello DP,

    I'm writing here to alert everyone to an internship opportunity, available to candidates in Northeast Ohio able to travel to offices in North Canton two-to-four days per week.

    I'm looking for a part-time employee to work as an assistant instructional designer. Internship credit is available to college students, though the position is open to all qualified applicants. This position will pay $10-12 per hour, 20 hours per week, and the position is approved to remain open for at least the remainder of the calendar year, with a strong possibility for renewal and/or full-time upgrade at that time.

    We are aggressively pursuing hiring: phone screening will take place starting tomorrow, March 24, and interviews will begin March 30, with an expected hire date of April 7. See below for contact information.

    Summary of description:
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of content for online and classroom learning materials.
    • Create interactive learning tools for both online and offline training.
    • Assist in the development of classroom training tools.
    • Involvement in planning of future training initiatives.
    • Will gain greater knowledge of client-side technologies related to development in the Web environment.
    • Will gain greater knowledge of the instructional design process.
    Summary of qualifications:
    Intermediate knowledge in the following areas:
    • HTML/XHTML
    • CSS
    • JavaScript
    • Flash
    • ActionScript
    • Graphic design software (Fireworks, Photoshop and Illustrator primarily)
    • Writing skills, specifically good grammar, spelling and content structuring skills.
    Experience in the following areas is desirable, but not necessary:
    • ASP/.net, PHP, CGI and/or other server-side coding languages
    • MSSQL, MySQL, SQL, Access, PostGRE and/or other database platforms or flat-file writing and retrieval.
    The candidate chosen for this position will have the opportunity to gain advanced knowledge in the following areas:
    • XHTML, CSS and JavaScript
    • Semantic validity in online development
    • Accessibility and usability
    • Instructional design
