Hi all. What is the best way to link inside a site. Would it be to interlink as much as possible or to link like tree form or ?
don't think about it more. just make your navigation good for your visitors at the same time it would serve for interlinking by default.
As long as they are text links and the anchor text describes the respective content, you will be fine
Some folk advise that you always use absolute or canonical paths too. For example: /dir/file.html or http://www.domain.com/dir/file.html. Cryo.
To use use absolute or canonical paths, would be the same wouldnt it ? The SE will only see the full path anyway.
Yes, make it useful for your visitors. But think about it for SEO also. Internal linking structure is crucial to your SEO. Definitely use good keyword anchor text for your internal links. And lastly, point more links to the pages that will have the most competition for their keyword and less to the ones that wont have much competition.
For example, if you want to point to a page that contains some SEO tools that can be used for free, consider: <a href="free-seo-tools.html">Free SEO Tools</a> <!--Instead of the usual home, news, tools etc anchor text. --> Code (markup):
I think that absolute paths do make a difference. With some sites that I've checked out their backlinks... many of the backlinks credited are from internal pages in their site. I figured switching it up can't hurt. Also, yeah, anchor text is important, too.
