    Hey guys, when creating anchor text to interlink from one page to another within your site, is it best to have the link open in a new window or go directly to the page being linked to please?

    From my view if it is Internal link then you should stop all internal links from opening in New window and Open only external links in New Window.

    Yes there are no need to internal link open in new window. Because it is the reason to increase bounce rate. If someone open your website and click the interlink, the page open in new tab or window, but your previous page is left by user (no activities on previous page), your bounce rate would be increase.

    I personally open interlinks of my blog in a same window. All external links should be open in new windows to new tab.

    For internal linking there is no need of opening the page in a new window as the visitor navigate within the same site.
