I have always thought having too much of something is bad. On my webpage I had interlinked a lot of the words...including the bottom part where it states north carolina mortgage, charlotte home mortgages, etc. Some said this is the way to get 'sitelinks'. Well my SERPS dropped BIG TIME on Google. I'm getting MORE visits from LIVE/MSN ...it has tripled in the last few days. Google has gone down to 1/3 of what I used to get. I feel like strangling someone! I took out the links from the bottom, and my Google SERPs have gotten a lot better, but not back to where they were.
Interlink your pages within content not much in footer. try to interlink a page with a particular related keywords. this step will make your site stronger.
My dear Friend Whoever say that interlink is bad is just a newbie or passing his time here. So better keep this in mind that too much of interlink will never harm you seo wise ya it may create sometime problem to visitors if you have very huge website and having 100 interlinks per page but seo wise it is best. Secondly the link which you have delete from the footer ( i think they were external link right) if not then there may be some other reason for your dropping not that one. Internal linking is a technique and will not harm you at all, you can see our website http://www.cygnet-infotech.com The best example of internal linking.
I agree. The anchor text simply states that the page being linked to is relevant to the various keywords which are used. I see no harm in doing this.
I would agree with the other posters that interlinking to relevant parts of your site from within the content of your page is a solid SEO technique. I would however not advise this to be done hundreds of times at the bottom of the page as there is not any real benifit and the can ruin the look of a page.
In my opinion putting huge list of internal links in the footer looks a bit unprofessional. I would use them in the content, as it gives some good value to visitors.
