Hi, I have a website which has 2 targetted key words. I put some backlinks on relatively storong PR-sites using anchor texts of only 1 of the 2 keywords. ( I think I have put 10 or so links....1 link on each site.) Then in 10 days or so, the rank with the keyword I chose to put the link with went UP #5+ or so and the other one went DOWN #5 or so....Do you think it's possible it is because of the links I put? I mean, it's strange Google lowered the rank with my other keyword, because they are links anyway... Of course it's possible that it is because of other factors, but my site's rank had been stable for a long time with both of the keywords. So I am really wondering about it. Any opinions, thoughts are appreceated, Thanks!
It's possible that the drop is just because the links were strong - that happens often. You'll usually bounce back up higher than you were before afterwards.
no one will be the TOP 1 forever, someone might works double harder than you, so they rank better than you. You have to give to others to rank well also.. haha! Don;t worry, your rank will be improved if you optimized correctly and get enough backlinks.
In this competitive world you should give your full effort then only you could survive. So continue your SEO you will become stable at one day.
Yes I agree, it does not happen always but perfectly normal. Links have to "age" for their full strength development.
Thanks for your replies. Some mentioned about "other people are doing SEO too" and I understand that but my point here is that my ranks were pretty stable for both of the keywords as I mentioned. So it is possible that it is because of other people's SEO is affecting my site but I doubt that.... I hope the bouncing back theory is correct but I wonder why one keyword went up and the other droped....
