Nice article and it is so true. I've been fortunate enough to be fully self-employed for the past 9 years. People often say I have it made and some say I sure am lucky, not realizing that's an insult. I didn't get lucky. I do have it made! I have the best boss in the world, but I digress. I became a successful affiliate marketer by working my a$$ off. The people who envy my success and free lifestyle didn't see the year and a half that I worked every spare moment, after I got off work, to learn how to build web sites and how to market them effectively. I made virtually no income for the first two years but I believed in what I was doing and then it happened! I still work long hours, often 12 hours or more per day. But I sleep in as late as I want. I may take a week off for a trip. I'm in Veas right now as I tap out this post on my laptop. It's ok that I don't intend to do much work today. I have a marketing machine that I've built though years of hard work and it's going to do the work for me today so I can go play. It's all about perseverence and the work you're willing to put into it.
Very true Loni. People are always jealous of others success, so it's natural to claim they are "lucky." When you don't think clearly enough to know that someone who is lucky enough to make money from their home while being their own boss, has actually had to work very hard to get to where they are.
Loni - couldn't agree more. Your situation was very similar to mine years ago when I first started out. Determination is everything. Haha ... wish I knew how easy adwords was when I first started, would have made things a LOT easier but I worked on SEO forever and never gave up. Opportunity and creativity go hand in hand btw ... and do not procrastinate folks. If you get stuck, go back to it, but keeping the momentum going, asking questions, etc. It's all kinetic. One quote that sticks with me on success (forget where it came from) was about learning to fail fast ... it's entirely true.
Well the writer called those questions both "stupid" and "valid". Looks like hes having internal conflict issues. I think this article applies to a few types of people. Kids under 16 who want their halo site to make $10000 a month, people who create websites littered with google ads intermingled within the crappy content in hopes of some dumbass clicking the google ads, and foreign people who cant speak English. If you have common sense, you will know the only thing you can get instantly rich with is the lottery. Determination like said above, and MOTIVATION! Thats what will make you succesful. Hard work and motivation. Read the succes stories, and get motivated to achieve succes yourself.
I would have to agree with Loni. It takes time and effort to make money online. I really think and believe that there are a lot of people who make money online and are profitable.. from a numbers perspective but do not make enough so that they can actually LIVE and SUPPORT themselves on that revenue achieved via their online business. I think we all make some money and profit just that it's not enough to leave our jobs.......yet. That is the part we all are trying to achieve.
