Interesting Phenomenon

Hi,
This is something that has happened strangely to me. I have a website www.thespiritualhealth.com. This site used to have 22 backlinks. I optimised a few pages for interesting keywords, and wonderfully I got them to the top 10 results. Now, google updated the backlinks, and I got 200+ backlinks. But can you believe, my ranks by more than 20 times!! This is strange!! Can anyone advise? Will my ranks ever revive?

Could be a competitor submitting your site to blacklisted directory's, just a thought.

 

But I don't really find any links from directories. I gave away a free joomla template from my website. The template had my links in the footer. Does that cause the decline in search results?

 

make sure you use the keywords your targeting in your anchor text of ur back links, and try to have them also aroun the link get in context links and related and lots of them, its not easy if it was easy google would not sell adwords lol.

 

yeah someone may be spamming your links, are you in a very competitive niche?

My niche seems to be very generic. Its based on non medical health tips. Its pure content, and not much link building has been done my me. The only way I got links is from the downloads of my templates, and a few discussions in various groups!
