Interesting... Organic Search Results influences Adword position!!

I just noticed something very interesting the last few days. My organic Search Results in Google jumped up in the ranking the last few days. At the same time, I also noticed that my Adwords position also increased 3 positions at the same time, without any changes to my campaign or bid.

    You guys seen this before?

or it could be 3 competitors paused their campaigns. i dunno, but i think that Google has tried to seperate the two (organic and sponsored), and dont influence each other.

Organic results have nothing to do with paid results.

Adwords position and CPC is related to a Quality Score that google gives to your site.

It stands to reason that their definition of page/site quality is similar for PPC adverts than organic listings so if your site is ranked well organically then your QS is higher and the CPC is lower.

Quality score is more important at the keyword level - the landing page itself is only a part of the equation.

I set up new campaigns almost every day for brand new sites and pages with no negative impact.

But if you set up a campaign for a brand new 2 day old site would you expect to see the same CPC over time as for an established, high ranking, site? Branding and other issues aside of course.

    Yes.

All things (ad text, keyword selection, landing page elements, etc) being equal I don't see any significant difference in the average CPC on old "established" sites vs new sites.
