Hello all, So last time I asked about your feelings on Articlebot. The program that went out and could scrape pages, generate content, and a whole bunch of other stuff. The general consensus seemed to be that it could be used as a tool for the dark side and was not popular for it's scraping ability. This time... I found a tool that lets you put live content updates on your pages using any type of RSS data like dynamic feeds, product data feeds, etc and update or create pages based on those feeds. The program allows you to customize all that data with HTML & CSS. All pages come out static and can update whenever you decide. As far as affiliate marketing goes this looks pretty incredible. For example: "In fact, when we were testing, we were able to generate an entire 30,000 page site, with every single Overstock.com product, each one on it’s own individual page, WITH a navigational structure, in about 3 minutes and 48 seconds." This tool was just released this morning. The price seems a touch high, but there is a lot you could do with this. The product is Feed Stomper. You can find it here. Feel free to check out the full description there and let me know what you think.
OK, and what can this do that carp can't do for free without monthy fees as well? Even if somone paid me $100 dollars to set up carp for them, they would still be ahead of the game and not have to be a propeller head. I just don't understand this I guess.
I went and looked up Carp. Looks like it has a lot of the same features. Thanks for the tip Noppid. Do you use just the free version of Carp or is it worth looking into the Evolution or any other version? EDIT: Wow, the entire Gecko Tribe line of RSS tools looks pretty cool. Do you use them all Noppid?
So I emailed the Pre-Sales team at Feed-Stomper and asked them directly about the differences between them and carp. This is the response I got: "We process more feed types than CARP and make it easier by not having to install a system. We also allow total generation of output. The main difference is in how many feeds we address and keep them rotating." I'm definitely going to download Carp tonight and give it a whirl. That explanation just doesn't justify $75/month to me. Even the commercial version of Carp at the high end is like $20-30 one time only. Thanks again for the referral Noppid.
Feed Stomper is owned by Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins, the authors of Stomping the Search Engines. I bought that product and found it overhyped to the max, they also promished a link to a PR6 site with the purchase, something that never eventuated despite the repeated requests I made. I have also been receiving emails from them for some time now about Feed Stomper, initally it was going to be free to people who had purchased the other product but that has changed and now they want to charge a considerable amount for what essentually can be found elsewhere for free. I only mention this because I am sick of people taking advantage of others in this manner, it is a growing problem, you only have to look at the rubbish that is being sold on ebay to unsuspecting people. It just makes it so much harder for those of us that are straightforward and honest. At the top my list for honest straight shooters are Noppid, Shawn, Ysf1, Compar, mcdar and Homer, these are the good guys. I know there are many others but these came at short notice off the top of my head.
I found CARP here. The main RSS page also looks like it has some good tools (though i've not evaluated them yet).
Carp is a very good system but is limited in what all it can do. Systems like feed-stomper.com and superfeedsystem.com have an advantage in being able to manage a wider variety of feeds types automatically without the need to install and run software on a system. These are some of the features that superfeedsystem.com and feed-stomper.com have. -Supports six kinds of dynamic (changing) feeds including RSS, Atom, XML, CSV & TXT and Excel spreadsheets -Supports three kinds of static feeds including CSV & TXT and Excel spreadsheets for creating sites with hundreds or even thousands of pages -CSV & TXT can be separated by commas, semi-colons, colons, tab and pipe with column names present or missing and quoted or unquoted -Excel system can open file and visit a specific spreadsheet within an Excel document -Grabs feeds over the web (HTTP) or via FTP -One account works with multiple websites and multiple feed sources -FTP downloading feed method allows you to specify username, password, port (in case of private area) and ability to change folders once connected -HTTP download feed method allows you to specify username and password, if necessary to access (certain) secured areas where a log in box pops up -System can auto upload (FTP) created pages to your site(s) -System will replace part of linking URLs with your own affiliate id from one to hundreds or thousands of links -Central affiliate account replacement system (enter affiliate once and select it from list) -Full control over feed output information decide from five pieces of information to put in output -Output information into HTML, PHP or Javascript pages/code -Central template control panel -Schedule feeds to update daily, any week day, or monthly (beginning, middle, or end) -Feed records do not effect each other -Ability to control number of items on each feed output -When using RSS or Atom ability to set up to five different URLs to combine into output -System will only update content if able to retrieve information and it is valid - this helps prevent blank pages due to web errors or invalid feed information -Advanced searching allows you to find information in account faster -Advanced statistics shows graphical and text information about your account -Daily report e-mailed to keep you updated on your account -Ability to temporarily suspend feed entries -Official support along with community forums I know Carp Evolution does some of these things but superfeedsystem.com and feed-stomper.com do all of what Carp Evolution does and a lot more. As always It is up to you to evaluate the choices available and make a decision about what you need and what does the job for you.
So in other words superfeedsystem.com and feed-stomper.com work excellently with generated crap spammy questionable content and carp doesn't work quite as well......
hjime223: You are obviously a "big supporter" of superfeedsystem.com and feed-stomper.com (one & the same from what I see). It is easy to copy/paste a list of features directly from the Features page on those sites and then say evaluate yourself and Carp Evolution does some of that but not all... What I would like to see is what off that list does SuperFeedSystem do that CARP-Evolution doesn't? I know Andy & Brad helped design this new tool, and I do respect a lot of the work they've done in the past, but what I honestly need to know is why I would pay $75/month over the one-time-cost of $20 for CARP Evolution? Does Carp not load in the same product feed as the others? Noppid: Where are the best tutorials (if any) to learn CARP from?
Just an update, the only package available from Feed-Stomper is the $247/month one now. I also noticed that after I talked to their pre-sales team about CARP they have added a question to their FAQ on line 5, I'm still glad I found CARP though. Thanks again Noppid!
I wrote one for ya. Hopefully it will be of some help. Using Carp RSS for Displaying News Feed Content I never know what's gonna inspire me to type or when, but that rolled off my fingers. Thanks
