I was talking to a friend of mine about hacking and Myspace and he said Myspace is one of the easiest sites to hack and steal peoples' passwords. He's done it a few times to mess with friends' accounts but I had a better idea. What if I had him hack accounts with huge amounts of friends and then post bulletins/banners leading to my affiliate links? Assuming we only did it to regular people not big name celebrities' pages or anything, I think it would be a really fast and easy way to get a bunch of clicks.
Well I thought about doing it for my blog and that's the reason I didn't, because I didn't want to risk it getting shut down. But especially with affiliate links I doubt people would report the actual site, and I wouldn't do it to any celebrity's profile, just little highschool kids with a lotta friends.
well what would probably happen, is one of the person's friends would see the bulletins and messages and know it wasn't their friend. Plus the person who's account it was would be pretty upset at the situation. So I'm sure atleast ONE person would click the link and report what had happened. It would be better to create a myspace account, and send out friend requests to people with your links in your profile. If you send out too many messages with links then you're account might get closed for spam
That's what I do now, it just takes a lot of time and effort to build it up, and it doesn't seem like the small number of conversions are worth it. I see what you're saying though. Another reason I still like the idea is that people's accounts get phished all the time and the phisher will spam bulletins and comments about ringtones and such, it's happened to me and a lot of my friends and the solution is just to change your password. I looked on a couple of the ringtone sites and couldn't even find a "report abuse" link or anything similar. It's almost such a common thing that I really doubt anyone would take the time to report it if they even found out. I think I might try it with 1 link for a few days and see how it works, and I'll let you know the results. I've never really heard about anyone getting banned from affiliate networks, does it happen? And if they ban you can you sign up again with a different Paypal account?
Yes you can and will ban you will activity like that. There are networks in lawsuits because of that sort of thing. i wouldn't advise it at all.
Lol.. Give your self a day or two and you dont have any business at all. They will simply report you to your affiliate company and your banned. if you want to make real money this is not the way to do it.
I dunno why no1 has posted this yet but your idea is STUPID and not at all interesting... Not only is this illegal but just plain not very practical... big wootie doo that you can h4xor some myspace accounts... get a life and get traffic the real way.
