While checking some backlinks from a competitor I saw something interesting. He has 2 sites with almost identical url's, lets name them keyword1 . com and keyword2 . com for the ease of use now. keyword1 . com is a solid niche site about "keywords" keyword2 . com is a site that is part of a private blog network, comparable to BMR, it has no front page, and it has about 600 pages about all kind of niches, all articles with few hundred words and max 2 outbound links, pretty obvious Now the nice part is that keyword2 . com has the url of keyword1 . com on each and every page. But not a hyperlinked link, no just plain text format and thus unclickable. This site keyword1 . com is outranking almost every site in the niche and doesnt have too many high PR backlinks on other sites. I think he fooled google pretty well by letting them think that he as hundreds of very relevant backlinks cause of the url where they come from. All pages are pr n/a btw, only the homepage is PR3. Now you can disagree ofcourse, but this site is outranking aged sites that have there onpage seo 100% in order and that have tons of backlinks. While his site keyword1 . com hardly has any backlinks from other sites then keyword2 . com which is NOT relevant at all. Only the URL is hugely relevant but the content is written in a different language and 100% non-relevant.
