Did you know that Google sees 53 million* new search terms each day within it's engine (not it's network, just Google)? Pretty interesting, huh? I wrote an article on for my blog and my company blog with a bit more information if you are interested: Traffic Flow SEO Blog Post - Did You Know? --- Interesting Google Fact Search Fuel Blog Post - 53 Million Reasons to Love Broad Matching Google will not actually reveal this number, but a Google insider has confirmed that the number is pretty close.... * Please note that 'new' refers to search terms that the search engine has NEVER seen and search terms that the engine has not seen in the last 90 days.
so if an event happens only once a year and nobody is interested in it in between, it will be a "new" search when people start looking for it again 12 months later?
53 Million is quiet a number It will be more like this. People searching for "Ronaldinho" some would type ronaldio, ronaldnho, raonldinho so all these spelling mistakes will make them new searches to google
well although i dont know how much valid that information is but it sure sounds interesting... thanks for the information... i will look up to check the validity
You are correct. Yes they do... Check as much as you like, but it is accurate. I hate to try to sell you on my credentials, but I work with some of the largest paid search advertisers on the Web (across all engines) and work for the largest search engine marketing company in the world which provides unique access to the engines allowing for deeper insight than most.
53 million new search terms.....each day !!! The number looks highly exaggerated to a layman like me.....but the OP's position level at work forces me to believe the claim.... Anyways....the number is still pretty huge! Regards, RightMan
Another source is to look at estimated traffic graph of google (which also can be compared to other site) in Alexa.com.
Yes, as long as new people start searching, new search terms will also be used. Proves every person is unique.
It's pretty amazing yeah- but highly expected. Now, considering the "recent" purchase of Youtube I'm sure they are needing search usage like this and such an income.
Its probably due to the almost unlimited number of possible searches eg someone might search for mens red leather cowboy boots size 10 in Dallas and nobody has ever searched that before - the possibilities are endless !!!!!!!!!
Any kind of searches that involve a date will constantly be new searches, for example "lottery results 24th jan", or cheap flights june 2009 These probably account for a fair amount of searches
