Interesting Google Ranking Issue

    Hi ,
some time ago one of my sites and domain was suspended for about ten days by my host. After I had solved the problem the site and domain are online again. But now the homepage is at the end of the site results(site:www.mysite.com) on google and ranking bad compared to its ranking former to suspension though I'm still getting fairly good traffic from subpages.
Well I guess its normal to get a little penalty by google after having the site suspended for ten days but the question is how can get my homepage ranking well again or is it just a matter of time before I start getting a good position on google again. Did anything like this every happen to you guys.
    Would appreciate some advice,

    Thanks to everyone in advance

    Hello...

I would assume a few links to the home page will bring it back or it will probably come back on its own in time week/two.

Ive never had a site down longer then a few days at best so, but im sure it will come back

    thx

I had a site suspended my mistake for less than 12 hours and that caused a drop in SERPS for some of my main keywords. Was very annoying but things went back to normal after about a week so my advice would be to sit tight, carry on your normal link building, adding content etc. and things should sort themselves out.

Yeah same for me, but my (shitty) host was not allowing googlebot on some hosting plans --> dropped in SERPs

Get a few links to your home page and it'll rise again ;)

I agree with malcolm - get few new links to the home-page and rankings will be back to normal.
Also - if it is a dynamic site - you may do well by adding fresh contents.

I presume the site will rise back to its original standing soon enough. One time I had a site go down for a bit less than 24 hours, it dropped its ranking, but after a week it was leaps and bounds better than it was, even before it was off for that period! Quite an interesting situation, I can't complain.

Normally it takes about 2-3 months for you homepage to rank well again. 10 days is a long time. You shold notice it

My site was once down for about 3 days. It lost all ranking. Then I think it took a month or so, before that site got its ranking back. Backlinks will help in such cases.

I think you need to wait for your rankings to recover for a while. In the meantime, just build backlinks.

If you continue doing the standard and normal tasks like waiting, adding links and contents, everything will return to normal. It is always important to know that Google tends to be attentive to details of the sites up time status and will not be doing rush things and you need to wait for a while like days or a week.

Rest assured, your PR and SERP will come back within 10-20 days without doing anything. I was in the same situation as you were, host down for 5 days and my site has lost everything - PR and SERP. I was so mad that I just ignored the site and doing something else. Surprisingly, the PR came back so do SERP in a week or so.

Thanks to all. You all have been very helpful. As I understand I think for a 10 day down ,2 to 3 months would be the right laps of time to get things back to normal. Just going to have patience and keep building backlinks till things get better. Hey guys dont ever let your site down, this is really frustrating.

Give it a few weeks and your site should be back to its normal ranking. There is nothing to worry about.

Two years ago one of my sites was off line for almost a month. When that site came back online, it had dropped way, way back in the serps. In just a few weeks the site was back to page 2 and then finally on page 1.

I'll have a site in the same situation hitting the 3 month mark early april. The rebound after the server went down is dismal.
