is showing less ads per page supposed to allow for higher paying ads to show? If so this is not the case so far on our site. We've just gone from two ad blocks per page to one, to see if this theory holds true and after 3 days, it has not. Anybody seen success doing this? Thanks.
Every case is different. If you left single ad block on page, then it's CTR will go up, but general CTR can decrease becuse less ads are shown (less ads = less variety of ads).
ctr is also down, ad is in a good spot, and blended well. We left the ad where it used to be and just removed the other ad on the bottom of the page.
We had 3 ads at one point and tuned it down to 2. The ctr ratio stayed about the same but the earnings were a little better.
It worked for me, but ad placement is not a science. It might not work for you, you have to experiment and find the right number/ad placement for you. The niche has a lot to do with that also...
we're gonna give this a chance to work before we go back to the two block approach. maybe untill the end of this month. If changes do take place they should do so before that happens i would think.
