intellitext + adsense?

Are publishers allowed to use IntelliText and AdSense on the same page now?

Are only premium publishers allowed to do this?

I see them using this in their adsense code

I've done a little searching on Google for using AdSense and Intellitxt on the same page and I'm coming up with mixed answers but mostly people saying that Google told them that they are not allowed to Intellitxt alongside AdSense after they asked them in an email.

 

that's what I thought too....but I've seen so many sites with it.

I guess I'll e-mail and ask about it.

Google always says, without fail, that they don't allow it, but they have never, as far as I can tell, bother to ever enforce it. I guess in the end, it's up to you rather you want to take the chance. I've been taking the chance for a year now and haven't had any problems. Hell, I've even asked Google about it and pointed them to my sites, and even after they've told me I can't use it, they've never emailed me to tell me to remove it. So...

 

I've also seen many sites that use both. It wouldn't surprise me if google doesn't have a hand in intellitext. I've never used used it only because one site that I like and use alot uses both --- and sometimes when I go to click on a link from the website, I cannot - instead it takes me to intellitext ads. You might want to consider that, maybe???

 

I know for a fact that Google has no interest in the stake of intellitext, two completely different companies.

 

Intellitxt is partners with YPN, which is, I'm guessing, where their objection to running Intellitxt alongside Adsense comes from. They just don't want "the other guy" (i.e. their biggest competitor) to get any kind of hold on their publishers' sites.

 

I just saw a site an hour ago though, running adsense and intellitext, I think it has to do with being a premium publisher for sure.

Premium publishers still have rules to follow. I don't believe that Google would allow anybody to run both programs on the same site outright, but they may not be actually enforcing it if they find publishers who do. I was contacted by Intellitext over a year ago and my first concern with them was running them alongside AdSense. Intellitext claimed that I could, but a clarification request on the Terms of Service directly from Google was that I couldn't. I think that says enough.

I'm not a premium publisher, and neither are a half dozen other publishers I know, and we all run Adsense and Intellitext.

 

I guess they just don't really "care" about that part of the TOS...

They're very selective about what they enforce, that's for sure.

 

I've recently received an email from them asking to remove one or another within 5 days...

 

This is a bit misleading. Chow mentioned somewhere he has a special deal with Itelli, they serve him ads on a CPM basis and not a CPC, so i think that's why it's allowed.

Emailing and asking is always the best choice.

I personally wouldn't take anything "John Chow" says as gospel. The guy claims to make thousands a day and he still goes around spamming forums with crappy, ill-conceived articles to get more traffic to his blogs so he can convert with Adsense. I mean, come on, you don't see Shoemoney digging for pocket change like that.
