C2D puts intel on top. Its a great processor. Its a totally new and really improved product.

Agreed, however, I prefer AMD for bang for buck.

yeah, i'm using a sempron 2800 on my desktop.

the AMD mobile processors dont seem so prevalent though.
mostly intel implementations on the mkt from the major players...

i'd have loved to go with a transmeta crusoe, but they went off the market so fast before i could get one.

well basically the new cpu regardless being amd or intel they usualy do all the work we need for office and some games, but is a fact that the new intel are beating the amd by a nice difference. They are really fast.

Of course if a guy just uses office and play a couple games once in a while he wont notice the difference, but if the cpu is used for calculation or even programing (large libraries and programs) or evem 3d renddering then the difference in performance is quite big

AMD for now.. My current work machine is a 3yrs AMD Athlon XP. I use this computer everyday and keep it on 24/7. Sometimes running heavy tasks while i am away. It's on the cheapest motherboard so i am more than happy with its rock stable performance round the clock since 3yrs ago! :D

What do you guys know about the AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile MT-32? Is it any good? I was thinking of buying a HP with that processor but since intel has their Pentium M740 so cheap I don’t know if it’s worth the extra cash.

it not bad that turion, but the pentium 740 is way better in performance and in baterry duration.

I think the turion is also more dificult to underclok&tweak it in order to get more juice from the baterry.

I bought a new notebook the other day, and it's running a Turion 64. Hot as hell (burns my legs when it's on my lap...seriously!), but I find it performs well above the Core Duo I run in my other notebook.

I'm going to go for the underdog...AMD.

    INTEL is used by me.
It is good in working and never create problem for me yet.
AMD is also good one but in India INTEL is used by most of the people.
