Do anyone have a comment on Intel Dual Core Microprocessor. Anyone have any experiance with it? Did AMD Dual Core run better that Intels?
Last three week in Singapore, AMD have challenge Intel for open battle on Dual Core technology. Until the day end, there is no sign that Intel would like to come and prove their technology is far better than AMD. By the way, as the cost is concern, I think Intel has a better place in a long run. But maybe i'm wrong. Anyway the battle of the titan's gives us more in term of technology and computing power.
Go AMD. The Intel chips run way hotter (temp - not speed) than AMD chips. The AMD64 x2 4600 is just about the fastest consumer chip out there.
Yes.. i see that. The issue of higher temperature per CPU is what they out there are talking right now. As a Dual Core need more space to run, the microprosessor will be collecting heats. Due to the nature of design for microprosessor, it will make the life cycle of the equipment will be shorter, So, do we need to have a better chip design or still maintained the old one?
ya and the most amazing thing was that AMD was using adwords to get people to sign the letter where they are asking Intel to accept the challenge I too signed the leter after clicking there ad
Go with the AMD. Cheaper, cooler and usually laptops with Turios keep running for a longer period of time with the same battery.
I have always been an Intel guy but this time I went AMD Dual-Core and I am very happy with it... Besides it's cheaper than Intel...
That is awesome - which one did you get? I am thinking x2 4200, which has about the best price to performance right now.
Also remember with these processors, the motherboard quality and capibilities of the chipset used matter in performance as well.
You may have noticed that most AMD processors have a number in their model name like the one mentioned above, the 4600. I recently was doing some research because it seems all Intels run faster like some intels run at 3.8 Ghz or faster and most of the AMDs only were in the 2 - 3 Ghz range. Well the number actually is a referance to how fast it runs compared to an Intel. That chip mentioned above would be equal to a 4.6 Ghz Intel. Yeah AMD is better.
I mostly go with AMD now also. I just bought an AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 Dual Core 2.6GHz for my Mom. The computer I am using here now myself is two AMD Opteron 275 (2.2 GHz) Dual Core processors (so 4 processors). The only exception is laptops. I still stick with Intel for them.
I got the "Athlon-64 X2 4400+ CPU w/ Hyper Transport Technology"... I run SETI@Home on both cores at the same time, listen to online music and surf with 6-7 Tabs open in Firefox at once and sometimes have Photoshop open and working in it, and my temps stay at about 47-C.... When nothings running it's at about 32-C... I built it for Gaming and so far it's working great..
Do you mind sharing us what your RAM is? is't 1Gb or more that that? Anyway... There're lot of hype in the market that I think this Dual Core designing team should consider it for the sake of all user and customer.
the 4400 x2 is arguably the best performance for price processor in the amd range. Someone mentioned the 4600 x2but for that price you would be better off witht he 4800x2 as it has the improved cache size. AMD x2 processors are generally more expensive than the intel ones but a low end amdax will outperform the higher end intel ones. It is partly due to the memory controller for the amdx2 being intergrated into the cpu whereas the intel one has it on the mb. And yeah the intel duel core ones run a lot hotter than amd I built an 4400x2 with 4 gig of corsair xms ram, and 2 256 7800gt gfx cards and it runs like a dream, i multitask all the time and it never lags and i use zalaman fans etc so it is near silent too! i love it, cost a fortune thouhg
