Use Core 2 Duo. It's better 2 go on an newer technology when the difference in cost is not much

AMD is the best. I completely agree.

But there are issues. They update there technology very soon, so if u are using the one with a old technology U are stuck up.U will get a replacement but of the newer product which may not suit your Motherboard.

As per Intel is considered it is much reliable in this case

Dual Cores like the Pentium D are first generation dual cores and they use more power and have a slower FSB.
Core 2 Duos are the second generation hence the "2" and have a higher FSB and a better architecture which consumes less power and is more durable. Plus it is around $40-100 more.

Pentium D processor sucks. Tried it on a server and crashed everyday.

Xeon Core 2 runs better than the core 2 duo for cad and servers.

The Xeon Core 2 has been replace by the Xeon Eight core.

My main server is a Intel Dual Xeon Harpertown (8 CPUs) and even that can be overkill for a server, because the bottleneck generally won't be the CPU it will be the Disk I/O or RAM.

So if you're going for fast multi-core processors, make sure the rest of the links in the hardware chain are equally as capable.

The drives do matter a lot. My dual core xeons have 10,000 rpm scsi hds against 7200 for my core 2 duo machine.

Core 2 Is a model Like They're can be Core 2 Duo, Quad etc.

Dual core means it has 2 processors

There for a Core 2 duo means there are 2 Core 2 processors.

    I hope you understand now.

Core 2 Duo or Quad is the latest PC CPU from Intel and the Dual Core is the older pentium base dual core CPU from Intel.

The new Core 2 range is way way better than the old Dual Core Pentiums which you need to steer clear of.

Core 2 duo is better, but you'd want a dual core if your running a server...

Core 2 Duo is a 64bit processor. Intel Dual Core is only 32bit. If you want to run a 64bit operating system then you better go with a Core 2 Duo...
