I have a new page I'm putting together using WP as the 'cms'. I'm attempting to include my WP header in vbulletin so it looks like a seamless integration (WP header + footer wrapping vbulletin). I am unable to get this to work at all. I have tried making vb index act as a WP page by using a page template w/ an include to the VB index. I have also tried including wp-blog-header.php in Vbulletin header template then calling get_header & get_footer in the appropriate places to wrap the vbulletin content. It's acting like it's not even there. This seems like it should be a more common request but I have not seen any decent information on people who have gotten this to work properly (but I have seen several pages where it looks like I wanted). To be clear, I am not looking for a link to the vbulletin/wordpress bridge thread on vbulletin.org. I am looking for a style/theme integration option for vb/wp. Anyone have ideas? Thanks!
I'm getting ready to do this (what a nightmare...) Have you had any luck yet? I'd be more than happy to share what I learn as I get to the vB part of my theme migration...
Nope, I haven't had any luck with it yet. I'm considering just paying someone to do it for me. If you have any luck with getting the WP headers & footer in VB then please post your code so I can follow it. I haven't found any decent info on the web. I also posted on WP.org in a thread from one guy who said he got it working. His work didn't help me much but maybe it will help you. http://wordpress.org/support/topic/264618?replies=3#post-1106314
You mean something like this guys - I've just completed it myself, and the forum is only a day old. WP blog: http://www.geekdaily.net/ vB forum: http://www.geekdaily.net/forums/ vBulletin is integrated into the theme and even with the JS drop-down menus. A php script collects the videos from the video forum - http://www.geekdaily.net/forums/youtube-technology-videos/ - and displays them on the video page: http://www.geekdaily.net/videos/. I could write a blog post about it if you wish?
That would be really handy - and that'd make you awesome I will be wanting to probably do this later this week as I've just started a thread on DP asking if there is forum software that uses the WP memberlist, or if I should just use vBulletin ... and I think I already know the answer, so spotted this thread and headed straight for it ... and there you are.... ahead of my game
I would love a blog post (or anything at all) you can give us about how you did it. It looks like exactly what I want to do. Thanks!
Ok, I'm working on it now. I'll break it down into a number of blog posts so I can cover it all in detail. Would appreciate some backlinks from you guys if you find it useful
