im planning to make a website thats similar to this. google "mugglenet" and "the-leaky-cauldron". im not allowed to post links yet. darn... im really sorry and i hope you guys dont mind... im not sure if it is really a blog post but it looks like one seeing that it has a date and a comments section. do any of you guys know how this is done? your help would be greatly appreciated.. im such a noob..
Hey, they get their blog posts on the front-page by using a CMS (content-management-system) which organises the data, and they can set it to their wishes via coding. For example Wordpress would do this for you, it is free to download see www.wordpress.org, it's a blogging sort of CMS system, wherby you can simply write posts and it does all the hard work for you. I'm not sure if this is what you was looking for and/or if you already knew what Wordpress is so sorry if I insulted your intellegence in any way!!
i was kind of thinking about that too... but it looked more like a static website with blog integration. im not sure though. thanks for your help guys. ill look for a good wordpress theme.
There are plenty about, personally I wouldn't go for the ones of the wordpress site for as good as they look they are getting very common. Places like blogging forums etc are sometimes a good place to look. Probably even on here but not sure if they'd be free.
