Integrate into new site - or add to existing?

Say I had a site containing Blue, Green and Red widgets.
    lotsawidgets.com

If i then had enough information to create a Yellow widget site, would you create another site (yellow-widgets.com) or add it to the current site (lotsawidgets.com/Yellow/)?

I would create a new site personally.

The extra links can never hurt.
Saying that, I would also add another section to the current site about these yellow widgets.

That way, you just added two of your own sites in the same range of results. :)

That's a very interesting topic actually.

It depends how popular I thought yellow widget would be. If the other widgets would be of great benefit to helping yellow widget be a success then I'd stick it on the same URL.

If yellow widget could be interesting enough that it would stand it's own ground then I'd definitely get a unique URL for the yellow widget due to better ranking for the domain name :)

    Host them on seperate servers.
Make them look completly different and don't duplicate the copy.

If you do that, I can't really see why they would suffer.

Don't forget the sandbox effect though.

I'd add new widgets to the existing site. The size of a site impact SERP and EPC if you run adsesne
