Went to go get my newer car (1998) insured today and the pricks wanted $5000 per year! I am lucky if i make 3,000 a year.

Whats my best route about this and any of you had the same issue?

What is the route ? Earn more. That is the only route in this case.

who's the company that wants to rape you BTW??? and what kind of car is it??

yeah insurance copanies charge more for

old cars and less experience drivers.

I have 1994 and they charge me 1.5-3 times higher than my parents' 2008 models.

We have a second hand car and we no longer get any insurance for it. It's just not worth it and the accumulated insurance payments are more expensive than my car itself.

    very true.

Even the representative of my insurance company tell me to make it either half coverage or none at all becuase not that worth for my car plus it's used only for local commune.

i got mine used from dealer under finance and a month ago, I paid whatever left over off and now got the ownership of it.

Since it is expensive, I am going to make only half coverage for it soon
9while under fionance, its a must to have full coverage and so expensive :( )

Insurance companies suck, but you better start making more than $3,000 a year.

Car only cost 3K so paying 2K more then what i paid is just stupid.

The car is a 98' Chevy malibu 4dr. Nothing special.. Even if i made 80K/year im still not wasting that amount of money on car insurance. My last car (96' dodge neon) only cost me $70/month more insurance so this is like a slap in the face *sigh* my parents wont allow me to go uninsured for whatever reason so im going to call everybody and there half cousin to see what kind of a deal i can get. If all else fails ill transfer it in my moms name and then get 60% cheap rates.

    how old are you?
because some insurance companies charge more for under 21 or 18 and or less than 5 years of driiving experience andepending on safety the car can give you

That's the problem, the insurance is sometimes more than the car, all depends if you work and DEF what your age is!

I just stick with my bikes. :D

    thats why
driver ed doesnt matter..thats jsut teaching you and bit of driving to pass the test and get license

at least 5 years of actual driving after obtaining license required to be considered discount (or you can apply for good student or some other discounts)

Insurance companies are notoriously greedy and unfair.

Mandatory insurance should be cheap and prob no profit.
