Instant search results not the same as traditional search?

I have several pages that rank #1 in Google for certain keywords, however the new instant search is showing totally different sites on the first page.

What's going on here, has anyone noticed this before? This will have a dramatic effect on my site! Btw, my search engine defaults to Google.CA since I'm in Canada, so maybe others in the USA might not notice the issue.

(sorry if this was brought up before, I couldn't find it)

 

I noticed what the issue is, take for example the words glass cup (nothing to do with my site btw). Instant search turns it into glass cupS and because of this it's showing totally different sites.

On the other hand, if you type crystal ball, the S is not added, so the results are the same. How are we going to tackle this?

I have a garden site http://vegetablegardensforbeginners.com/ 1st page of Google but since Google instant I now have almost zero traffic If you search for vegetable gardens for beginners Google returns results for vegetable gardening for beginners.

so, in google stats, they must find out more people search form glass cups, not just glass cup

 

well i noticed that the results are still the same.. they incorporate the instant results for fast searching..

 

The google instant are showing those words that have more searching, mean most the user are searching using "crystal ball" than "crystal balls"

 

Thats why every one is talking about future of SEO after the Instant was launched.. Instant is not good for long tail keywords ranked website.

 

Honestly I don't see a future in instant search results. It's good if you're a reporter but for everybody else it's not that good.

 

Google is trying to predict what you are looking for and this only works for some not all.
So does this me we now need to make two identical sites one with an "S" plural and one without?
